Refracturing in the Bakken – An Analysis of Data from Across North Dakota (UrTEC presentation)

Resource Abstract

Version 2 of the BPOP refracturing work was presented by Chantsalmaa Dalkhaa at the 2022 Unconventional Resources Technology Conference (URTeC), held June 20–22, 2022, in Houston, Texas. Additional authors included Nicholas Azzolina, Alex Chakhmakhchev, Bethany Kurz, James Sorensen, Charles Gorecki, and John Harju. The presentation notes the potential benefits of refracturing and the objectives of the study: evaluate production performance or refractured wells in the Bakken, evaluate the impact of refracturing on offset well production, and assess refracturing economics. Results from each of these objectives are provided in the form of examples.
