Resource Abstract

The quarterly report summarizes the program activities from April through June 2016. Efforts continued in the areas of flaring reduction, crude oil characterization, investigation of rich gas for enhanced oil recovery (EOR), produced fluids characterization, investigation of oil compositional analysis for source determination, facilities process modeling, reservoir performance modeling, Inyan Kara modeling, process optimization and system failure analysis, spill remediation, and land reclamation. Results from experiments conducted to determine the potential for utilizing ethane as an injectant for EOR in the Bakken are described in a summary report included as an appendix. North Dakota State University’s Range Science and Soil Science Programs provided final reports on four individual segments of work performed during the past 2 years. These reports are included as appendixes in the quarterly report.
